1. Who we are

Licensly ("we", "us", "our") helps small businesses track business licenses and permits and receive renewal reminders. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: support@licensly.us.

2. Information we collect

Account data: name, email, password hash, and authentication tokens.
Business data: business name, jurisdiction, and licenses/permits you add.
Reminder preferences: contact channels (email, SMS), cadence, and recipient details.
Usage data: log entries, IP address, device/browser metadata, and timestamps.

3. How we use information

Provide the service, including renewal reminders and audit logs.
Authenticate you and protect against fraud and abuse.
Improve features, fix bugs, and respond to support requests.
Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we share information

We share data only with service providers who help us run Licensly:

Lovable Cloud / Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
Resend — transactional email delivery.
Twilio — SMS reminder delivery (only if you enable SMS).
Cloudflare — DNS, TLS, and edge delivery.

These providers process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.

5. Data retention

We retain account and license data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing support@licensly.us. Backups may persist for up to 30 days after deletion.

6. Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. API keys and third-party credentials are stored in an encrypted secret manager and never exposed to the browser or stored in the application database. Database access is protected by row-level security so users can only see their own data.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR/CCPA — contact us to exercise them.

8. Children

Licensly is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

We will post any updates to this policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
